Jeremy Thomas’ (Producer: The Last Emperor) epic adventure Kon-Tiki is based on the true story of Thor Heyerdahl who, in 1947, sailed a balsa wood raft from Peru to Polynesia to prove the area was first settled by South Americans. The film is the highest budget Norwegian film ever made – breaking box office records there.
