DavePlushies

One of the most interesting acts getting around the Melbourne music scene at the moment is Dave & The Plushies. Dave and his furry friends will be performing their brand new show at The Butterfly Club from 28th June until the 3rd July so Subculture Entertainment’s Dave G decided it was time to catch up with Dave to find out about his interesting act.

Vengaboys

Pop sensations The Vengaboys are returning to Australia this October/November to a tour that is already proving to be a sell-out tour. Coming along with them are their friends Tina Cousins, Crystal Waters, DJ Sammy, Whigfield, Sonique and Joanne. Subculture Entertainment’s Dave Griffiths caught up with Crystal Waters to chat about the tour and what it has been like for her to record some of the most recognizable club anthems of all time.

With new Australian sci-fi film Sheborg Massacre about to get its public debut. Subculture Entertainment’s Dave Griffiths decided to catch up with the film’s director, Daniel Armstrong and one of the stars of the film, Daisy Masterman, to chat about how much heart and soul went into this film.

American Cinema Now

The inaugural Essential Independents: American Cinema Now festival is a two week long film festival that showcases the past, the present and the future of independent cinema from the US.Curated by Richard Sowada and screening at Palace Cinemas from May 17, the 32 films in the festival celebrate new narrative features, documentaries, and a retrospective on debut feature films from major international filmmaking talents like Richard Linklater, Kathryn Bigelow, and there is even a selection of classic films showcasing a gritty New York, like The French Connection, Cruising and Midnight Cowboy. Greg spoke to Richard Sowada to find out more about the film festival.
