Empire Of The Sun To Perform On Jimmy Kimmel
Anticipation is building around the world for the release of ‘Ice On The Dune’ – the sophomore album from Australian electro-pop pioneers, Empire Of The Sun – who sold over 1.5 million copies globally of their debut album ‘Walking On A Dream’. ‘Ice On The Dune’ is released in Australia tomorrow.
Empire Of The Sun have been on the promo trail in support of the new album and unveiling their incredible live show to audiences in Europe, America and Australia. Public and industry reaction alike to the new music and live shows has been nothing short of overwhelming with the band selling out headline shows including two nights at the Sydney Opera House and album tracks peaking at #2 on Hypemachine yesterday.
This week ‘Ice On The Dune’ is Triple J’s feature album of the week and fans are also able to stream snippets of the album tracks on Youtube. The band have also just performed on prestigious French TV show ‘Le live du Grand Journal’ with more planned TV performances over the next fortnight which include Jimmy Kimmel Live! in the US.
Empire of the Sun will perform at Bonnaroo this Saturday, June 15. The band will also headline numerous other festivals, including Splendour In The Grass, The Electric Daisy Carnival, Electric Forest, Summerfest, HARD Summer 2013, Made in America and Life is Beautiful. MTV’s global music brand have also selected Empire of the Sun to kick off 2013’s “The Music Experiment” with a show in New York City on June 20.
The video for lead single “Alive” has already had more than three million views. The Times of London recently tapped “Alive” as “Track of the Week,” hailing it as “blissed-out dream-pop.” The Alive Remixes EP, featuring remixes by M4sonic, Mat Zo, David Guetta and Zedd, is No. 1 on Music Week’s Upfront Club and Cool Cuts charts in the U.K and currently #4 on the ARIA Club chart.
