Inside Fighter – Nick Barkla Interview

An exciting new film festival arrives in Melbourne this year with the Melbourne Documentary Film Festival taking place from the 9-11th of July. Over the next few weeks we will take a look at various films playing at the festival.

Today we chat to Melbourne’s own Nick Barkla whose documentary ‘Inside Fighter’ is screening at the festival. ‘Inside Fight’ is a fascinating look at Australian boxer Frank Lo Porto as he prepares for a world title fight with reigning world champion Austin Trout. In our chat with Nick we talk to him about how he first came to know Frank and how he found himself in a rush to get to America after Frank was called up to fight in America with just five weeks notice.
