The Phoenix – Nora Niasari Interview

The Phoenix (Simorgh) is a short film from filmmaker Nora Niasari, who was born in Iran but moved to Australia. The Phoenix, which screened at MIFF in 2015, screens with Mustang at the Nova cinema during Refugee Week. Greg spoke to director Nora Niasari to find out more about Manouchehr Farid, the star and subject of the film, and about some of the challenges in shooting this drama that blurs the line between fiction and documentary.
