[MUSIC INTERVIEW] ORDER OF OWLS – Freedom(ination) Interview
Melbourne based Alt Rock/Metal outfit Order Of Owls have just released their profound new single and music video ‘Freedom(ination)’.
“On a surface level, it’s a cautionary tale of compromising your values in the face of adversity. The 5 of us have spent most of our lives learning to not mask who we are so others are comfortable. We’re in a constant cycle of learning, refining, forgetting, and repeating. These cycles put us in positions where we fly and falter, but the ultimate lesson learned is that shame gate keeps the ability to embrace who you truly are.”
The band have also announced that they will be playing a launch show at Stay Gold (Melbourne) on October 21 alongside Reign Maker, Centralia and
Tongue Biter.
Order Of Owls draw influence from the likes of Alive In Chains, Soundgarden, Pearl Jam and Periphery to create their unique and entrancing sonic. Led with a groove-based responsibility and melodic ostinato, the band aims to create sounds that are unique and engaging while remaining familiar.
Members of the band have extensive touring experience across Australia, China, Japan and Hong Kong, supporting heavyweights such as At The Gates, Soilwork, Trivium and many more.
New single ‘Freedom(ination)’ is available now on all major online streaming services.
This week the band spoke to Dave Griffiths about the new single. You can take a listen to the interview right here:
