[MUSIC INTERVIEW] BETWEEN THE SUNSET AND SUNRISE – In The Middle Of Chaos Interview

Between The Sunset And Sunrise Set to Release Debut Mini-Album In The Middle Of
Chaos on September 27, 2024
Post depressive black metal band Between The Sunset And Sunrise is thrilled to announce
the release of their debut mini-album, In The Middle Of Chaos, available on September
27, 2024, through Der Abt Records. The 27-minute album features five tracks that establish
the band’s signature sound, blending elements of Depressive Suicidal Black Metal (DSBM)
with ambient tones and subtle hints of brightness.
Drawing inspiration from the DSBM genre, Between The Sunset And Sunrise add their own
twist by incorporating ambient elements that bring a fresh dimension to the typically dark
and depressive music. In The Middle Of Chaos perfectly captures this blend of dark,
sorrowful guitar riffs with ambient tones and vocals that scream with a sense of desperation,
creating a distinctive sound that stands out in the DSBM genre. The album also features
mid-tempo, almost slow riffs that contribute to its dark atmosphere.
The album opens with “Half-empty Nightmares,” a track that sets the tone for both the
musical and lyrical themes of the album. Acting as a pilot episode in a TV series, it
introduces listeners to the sound and narrative that unfolds across the album. The highlight
of In The Middle Of Chaos is the nine-minute closing track “Dreams,” which serves as

both the final chapter and a resolution to the tale introduced in the opening track, “Half-
empty Nightmares”, bringing the album full circle.

Lyrically, In The Middle Of Chaos delves into themes of sadness, regret, and guilt, all
framed as half-empty nightmares. The album’s narrative is told from a first-person
perspective, offering a deeply personal glimpse into the songwriter’s experiences and
emotions.
Haunted by a soul without a name… In the middle of chaos.
