[MUSIC INTERVIEW] OCEAN OF ANOTHER – Loneliness Of My Kin EP Interview

Ocean Of Another is a Croatian modern metal/metalcore band founded in early 2022.

The band explores the harsh realities of being human, focusing primarily on mental health, addiction, and the deeper truths behind what it means to be human.
Through their music, Ocean Of Another aims to offer a helping hand and a place to connect and heal, as reflected in their tagline: “Become a drop in the Ocean Of Another.”

Only by sharing our experiences, fears, and pains can we begin to heal.

Some members are also part of Croatia’s most successful metal band, Manntra, as well as other bands such as Pale Origins, Zenoth, Ochi, and Grapevine Babies. They bring extensive experience as recording artists from these bands and others, including Cold Snap and Monox.

Loneliness of My Kin tells the tale of a human heart torn between the desire to be loved and accepted and the burden of past traumas in a society ravaged by consumerism.

How can we find meaning in a world hooked on cheap thrills and complacency?

Climate change, war, and the negative effects of capitalism were once seen as left or right political issues—now, they are the reality we live in. How do we confront these truths when we still don’t understand what it means to be human?

We strive to command and conquer the world and the universe while constantly averting our gaze from our inner worlds—losing our humanity with every step.

This EP is a form of self-discovery—a scream into the abyss in search of meaning and humanity amid a power-hungry system trying to dissolve our essence to feed its endless hunger.

This week Dave Griffiths sat down for a chat with the band about the EP. You can take a listen to the interview right here:
