Summary: In the year 2154 two classes of people exist: the ultra wealthy citizens of Elysium; a pristine man-made space station, and the rest of humanity; relegated to surviving on an overpopulated and polluted Earth. Refugees attempting to reach the elite health care and supreme comfort of Elysium via illegal transports from Earth’s scorched surface rarely complete the journey.

Max (Matt Damon) is an ex-con in desperate need to get to Elysium. With his life hanging in the balance, he reluctantly plans a dangerous heist to win him the perilous journey off-world. However, Elysium’s merciless Secretary Delacourt (Jodie Foster) and her hard-line forces led by Kruger (Sharlto Copley) know just how much of a threat Max is to their privileged existence.
