Rosie Catalano – Free Single Available

Rosie

Rosie Catalano is more than a sum of her parts. The Sydney-based chanteuse is a raconteur, whose emphasis on narrative and character, provides a colourful and cinematic quality to her music.

The first song off of her sophomore EP, titled Hearts, is testament to her beautiful brand of storytelling. Unique in its creation, Hearts was written as a reward for a pledger who supported her Kickstarter crowdfunding campaign back in 2010 to help fund her debut EP. With the help of poignant producer Sarah McCallum (aka Miss Little), Rosie was able to put flesh on the bare bones of what would become her debut single. Since all love stories require two to tango, it was enlisting the help of singer/songwriter Jack Carty that allowed the heart in Hearts to beat.

In ‘09, Rosie won a song competition offered by indie-pop darlings, Little Birdy. The result was a collaboration with the band on an original song “Where Did I Go Wrong?”. Rosie quickly went on to nab herself the coveted ‘Album of the Week’ slot on ABC Radio National, garnering a slew of high rotation radioplay across the country, as well as securing herself as a finalist for APRA’s Professional Development Award in 2011.

Rosie is set to release her crowd-funded EP, ‘Dreams Are Just Movies’ which is slated to hit shelves this October. The EP features a pool of unfairly talented guest musicians including Jack Carty, Brendan Maclean (Triple J, The Great Gatsby), Brian Campeau (The Rescue Ships), Evan Mannell (Bertie Blackman) and Veronique Serret (Joanna Newsom).
