Spookyland Releases New Single

Spookyland

Spookyland is releasing a new taste of his heavily anticipated EP, ‘Rock and Roll Weakling’ in the form of its kicker title track. The date for the ‘Rock and Roll Weakling’ EP has also been announced as the 18th of July, leaving only two weeks to wait until the full body of howling vocals and biting harmonica is released.

Putting a harder twist on Spookyland’s already signature sound of a bluesy banzai, Rock and Roll Weakling is set to stand out as his rock single. A weave of blasting hooks and soft crevices, the track steals all possible attention, offering temperamental riffs and emotional roller coasters in return. Equally intense and fragile, the lyrics match the rawness of the melody providing an unexpected balance in which to rest. Rock and Roll Weakling marks Spookyland’s step into the spotlight – through it he gives the heart on his sleeve over to be feasted upon.
The Rock and Roll Weakling single follows Spookyland’s debut The Silly Fucking Thing, which gained international attention almost immediately and amassed 7000 soundcloud plays in the first week of its release. Pretty impressive for a new kid on the block!
Spookyland launched the first single at FBi Social in Sydney town, as well as having it featured on community radio and Triple J around Australia. The Silly Fucking Thing also inspired a cover within weeks of this radio play by Rainbow Chan.
