Ghost In A Shell

In celebration of the upcoming film “GHOST IN THE SHELL”, stars Scarlett Johansson, “Beat” Takeshi Kitano, and director Rupert Sanders joined fans and influencers from across the globe in Tokyo yesterday for the film’s global launch party.

Opening with Taiko drummers, including the legendary anime film composer Kenji Kawai, the event held at TABLOID began with a screening of never-before-seen footage from the film. Attendees were given an exclusive behind-the-scenes look at the costumes and props from the film, as well as an opportunity to capture their experience in a film-centric experiential photo booth – “Becoming the Major.”

The exciting show concluded with Johansson, Kitano, and Sanders debuting the film’s global trailer, triggering its worldwide launch.

Crushed

With new Australian thriller Crushed out now on VOD Subculture’s Dave Griffiths caught up with one of the stars of the film Sarah Bishop. Dave chats to Sarah about what it was like filming in a vineyard and how much of the film’s mystery did she want to know before she started.

Wonder Woman

The new, action-packed trailer for the highly-anticipated 2017 film Wonder Woman has just been released by Warner Bros.
Wonder Woman hits cinemas around the world next June when Gal Gadot returns as the title character in the epic action adventure from director Patty Jenkins Monster, AMC’s The Killing).

Joining Gadot in the international cast are Chris Pine (the Star Trek films), Connie Nielsen (Fox’s The Following, Gladiator) and Robin Wright (The Girl with the Dragon Tattoo, Netflix’s House of Cards).

Before she was Wonder Woman, she was Diana, princess of the Amazons, trained to be an unconquerable warrior. Raised on a sheltered island paradise, when an American pilot crashes on their shores and tells of a massive conflict raging in the outside world, Diana leaves her home, convinced she can stop the threat. Fighting alongside man in a war to end all wars, Diana will discover her full powers…and her true destiny.

Patty Jenkins directs the film from a screenplay by Allan Heinberg and Geoff Johns & Patty Jenkins, story by Zack Snyder & Allan Heinberg, based on characters from DC Entertainment. Wonder Woman was created by William Moulton Marston.

The film is scheduled for release in Australia and New Zealand on June 1, 2017.

Ocean's 8

The tide has turned and it’s a whole new “Ocean’s” when eight women plan and execute a heist in New York. Oscar winner Sandra Bullock stars in the title role, alongside Oscar winners Cate Blanchett and Anne Hathaway, Mindy Kaling, Sarah Paulson, Awkwafina, with Rihanna and Oscar nominee Helena Bonham Carter. Oscar-nominated filmmaker Gary Ross is directing.

Ross directs from a screenplay he wrote with Olivia Milch (upcoming “Dude”), with Steven Soderbergh and Jon Kilik producing, Michael Tadross, Susan Ekins, Sandra Bullock, Diana Alvarez and Bruce Berman executive producing, and Milch co-producing. Filming is taking place in and around New York City.

Collaborating with Ross behind the scenes are director of photography Eigil Bryld (“In Bruges,” “Not Fade Away”), production designer Alex DiGerlando (“Beasts of the Southern Wild,” HBO’s “True Detective”), editor Juliette Welfling (“Free State of Jones,” “The Hunger Games”), costume designer Sarah Edwards (“Tower Heist,” Showtime’s “Billions”), and composer Nicholas Britell (“The Big Short,” “Free State of Jones”).

Ocean’s Eight is set for release in Summer 2018 and will be distributed worldwide by Warner Bros. Pictures, a Warner Bros. Entertainment Company, and in select territories by Village Roadshow Pictures.

T2 Trainspotting

The trailer for Danny Boyle’s highly anticipated T2: Trainspotting has just been released. This is the sequel to the cult classic Trainspotting and sees the return of key cast members including Ewan McGregor, Robert Carlyle, Jonny Lee Miller and Ewen Bremner.

It will be released in Australian cinemas on February 9th, 2017.

FeatureBeverly Hills Lizard People

Cthulhu Crush Productions have announced development on new horror-comedy Beverly Hills Lizard People, with filming to begin in the New Year.

Produced by the shingle’s Jody Wheeler and Steve Parker, whose upcoming horror feature WTF! will be released shortly, it’s inspired by the legend that Lizard People live under the ground in Los Angeles  (as reported in the papers in 1944!)… not to mention rule the world!

Fashioned in a similar tone to Slither and ScreamBeverly Hills Lizard People will tell of an ancient race of shape-shifting Lizard People from the depths of the Earth who return to the surface to reclaim what was once theirs: Beverly Hills.

Project is scripted by Wheeler.

Disturbed from their ancient slumber by the excavation of a cross-town subway, the ancient reptilian masters of a faded empire strike out to reclaim what was once theirs: Beverly Hills.
Ground zero for their invasion? A once popular, though now faded, hotel, currently the site of a reality TV cooking show competition, and directly overhead of their secret city.
