PSTCRDS have returned with their second infectious single – premiering at triple j’s Short. Fast. Loud on Wednesday night – “Change & Grow” from upcoming EP ‘This Place Or Our Pace’, due out Friday May 1st!

PSTCRDS teamed up with music lord and producer Chris Lalic (Windwaker, Rumours, The Last Martyr) to craft their own blend of soaring pop punk with an edge on the upcoming EP. ‘This Place Or Our Pace’ loosely follows a ‘coming of age’ commentary through a reflective perspective, and “Change & Grow” represents the high school experience and how it is often romanticised through pop culture. “As older generations look back on their high school memories, we often glorify experiences growing up, even though in reality schooling and education can be the hardest years to get through” explains vocalist Steven Reid.

“Navigating adolescence and the anxieties of growing up whilst also trying to figure out who you are and the experiences young people generally go through is hard – like trying alcohol, drugs, experimenting with new things, how you dress, how you act, how you treat people and are treated – this all factors into the overall experience and how you come out the other side.”

PSTCRDS released “Don’t Fake It” as the first of four from the forthcoming EP, and the track was welcomed with open arms. Exclusively premiering at Wall Of Sound with a radio premiere on triple j Unearthed, garnering a handful of positive staff reviews, a feature on Alternative Press, a spin on Short. Fast. Loud and shares across the nation. “Change & Grow” steps it up yet again and proves why PSTCRDS are ones to watch for 2020 and beyond.

Formed in early 2019, PSTCRDS is Steven Reid (vocals), Henry Holzberger (guitar), Tom Pockett (guitar/vocals), Brad Reid (bass/vocals) and Jack Stewart (drums). The band hit the ground running last year with their unique blend of emo and pop punk, playing to a full capacity crowd at The Cambridge Hotel in Newcastle off the back of their debut single “Someone You Can Be Proud Of“. Taking support slots for bands such as WindwakerRumours and Traces, the band quickly followed up with their second single ‘Stories’, which saw rotation on The Faction and plays triple j’s Short.Fast.Loud.

The next installment is here – “Change & Grow” is available now to stream and purchase at all good online outlets and streaming platforms!

One of the fastest rising acts of the burgeoning Australian progressive music scene, Ballarat’s Ebonivory have today released their powerful brand new single, Introvection. The track comes from their highly anticipated new album, The Long Dream I on June 5 via Wild Thing Records!

Frontman Charlie Powlett, says of the track
Introvection is an endless deep dive into the self. Opening with a descending spiral of riffs and transitioning into truly heartfelt reflection, this song encapsulates the vastly different stages of self-grieving and acceptance after trauma. In signature fashion, Introvection showcases our motivations as Ebonivory; to create an experience that hits hard without being overbearing, is musically complex whilst exercising restraint, and having the most fun possible without sacrificing the integrity of our art.

We’re immensely proud of this track, and we can’t wait for you to hear it in the context of the full album. We’ll be hitting the road as soon as it’s safe to do so, and we hope that everyone is staying strong through these difficult times.”

City Of Souls, fresh outta Auckland, New Zealand are today announcing the drop of another cut from their record SYNAESTHESIA (out on May 1 – pre-order at http://smarturl.it/SYNAESTHESIA)! The new track, titled ‘Cruelty’, and possibly the heaviest cut to date, will be live in all good digital stores and streaming outlets Friday April 17th.

From vocalist Richie Simpson – “‘Cruelty’ was a demo I had been sitting on for a few years before I joined the band. It was complete structurally so it just needed a bit of a fine tune and it was in the bag. I’m really stoked the lads dug it and it made the record, I love playing it live. It has a real swing and swagger to it. Kinda makes me wanna dance like Snoop Dogg haha. I remember channelling some nine inch nails reptile into the seasick bending guitar layers over the intro riff… it gave this dark energy to it. I love the mood changes that layering can give an idea. Cruelty is about the damage a lack of empathy can cause.”

SYNAESTHESIA has been an album five years in the making. Guitarist Marcus Powell elaborates:
“City of Souls have hit every single obstacle and block you can imagine. For us, this album
is about endurance, passion, and a deep love for music…To say we are excited to release this album is an understatement.”

City of Souls last dropped into Australia in 2019 to play the Progfest tour – and have made some headway into prog fans’ outside of NZ’s minds, having been spun on triple j’s The Racket, being added to rotation on The Faction, their videos premiered on Prog and being added to worldwide Spotify playlists New Metal Tracks, New Blood and Rock Out – which have put them in hundreds of thousands of ears!

One of New Zealand’s most reputable acts, City Of Souls was formed in August 2015 by guitarists Trajan Schwencke (Cold by Winter, In Dread Response) and Steve Boag (In Dread Response, Blacklistt). Vocalist Richie Simpson (New Way Home) found their existing tracks immediately captivating and joined the band. Guitarist Marcus Powell (founding member of multi-platinum bands Blindspott and Blacklistt) then joined, and the line-up was complete with Daniel Insley on Bass (Solstate) and Drummer Corey Friedlander (In Dread Response / 8 Foot Sativa).

The band’s new album SYNAESTHESIA is out on May 1 and can be pre-ordered at http://smarturl.it/SYNAESTHESIA – and this new single Cruelty is out on Friday April 17 on all digital stores and streaming outlets.

The wildest, wettest, dirtiest, hardest, heaviest most rocking heavy metal tour to hit Australia and New Zealand shores ever in the history of anything ever is coming….a little later than originally planned. For obvious reasons, the ‘HEAVY METAL RULES TOUR’ re-scheduled dates are as follows:

Sunday 14th February at Powerstation in Auckland
Tuesday 16th February at Margaret Court Arena in Melbourne
Thursday 18th February at NEX in Newcastle
Friday 19th February at Hordern Pavilion in Sydney
Saturday 20th February at Eaton’s Hill in Brisbane

For the uninitiated, Steel Panther was formed in 2000 and is comprised of Michael Starr (lead singer), Satchel (guitarist), Lexxi Foxx (bass) and Stix Zadinia (drums). Hailing from Los Angeles, the epicenter for rock n’ roll in all its debauchery and glamour, Steel Panther has established themselves as the world’s premier party band, melding hard rock virtuosity with parody and criminally good looks. Steel Panther is a global phenomenon with four full-length albums, touring across the world, platinum-level YouTube status and a #13 debut for the new album Heavy Metal Rules on the ARIA charts.
Rolling Stone avowed, “There’s a reason Steel Panther have transcended their origins as a cover band playing the Sunset Strip,” while Metal Sucks declared, “Steel Panther’s concept is genius…their songwriting is…preposterously snappy – and relatable.”

Along for the ride are Sevendust, who were last here in 2019 on their tour celebrating the 2018 album ‘All I See is War’. While demonstrating their musical mastery accumulated over more than 25 years as a band and simultaneously destroying all expectations for their live show, Sevendust show no signs of slowing down. To this day, the connection between fans and the GRAMMY® Award-nominated gold-certified hard rock outfit only grows stronger.

Tickets already purchased for the Heavy Metal Rules Tour are still valid for the Re-Scheduled Dates in 2021 and Tickets are now on sale again at mjrpresents.com.

The Atomic Beau Project are Brisbane’s newest prog/heavy powerhouses. Today, they bring forth to the world their epic new single and video ‘Time’. The single will find itself into the world on Friday April 17th and will be available on all good online stores and streaming platforms at http://ffm.to/TABP_time.

For those not in the know, The Atomic Beau Project are a progressive rock band, incorporating elements of metal, indie pop, and electronica and hail from the sunny state of Queensland. Originally a solo studio project created by it’s founding member, The Atomic Beau Project officially expanded into a full band lineup in 2020 and now they are presenting their debut video and single.

‘Time’ is the latest single from The Atomic Beau Project, following 2019 single ‘The King‘, and 2 singles in 2018, ‘Daybreak‘ and ‘Unknown‘. ‘Time’ heralds a bigger, bolder & broader sound for the band, with far more attack and light/shade than ever before demonstrated in their previous releases. The track was recorded/engineered/produced/mixed by Andy James (The Atomic Beau Project) and Mastered by Matthew Gray (Matthew Gray Mastering).

The debut filmclip for the band gives the world the first taste of the flavour and character of the band that will take the stage in the coming months, showing off the energetic performances and fragility and range of vocalist Beau’s vocal range!

Beau explains the meaning of the single as “‘Time’ is the story of a man who finds himself trapped in a world where time slows down. Whilst his body slowly deteriorates over time, he continues to think and function normally, fully experiencing the horrifying event as it unfolds.”

Beau continued about the new single, “This is the thing we have created that we are most proud of so far. We are so incredibly excited to release this into the world and show everyone what The Atomic Beau Project is all about – we feel this song and clip totally embodies that.

Comprising the rest of the band are Jack Gardiner on Guitar, Luke Woollett on Bass and Andy James on Drums in a newly formed outfit to perform the epic tunes live going forward!

The Atomic Beau’s new single ‘Time’ is out on Friday April 17th and will be available on all good online stores and streaming platforms at http://ffm.to/TABP_time.
