[MUSIC NEWS] JETHRO TULL To Release Live Music

Jethro Tull, led by the ever-charismatic Ian Anderson – hailed as the man who brought the flute to rock music – forged a genre-defying path through rock history.

Blending classical, folk, jazz, and hard rock in groundbreaking ways, Jethro Tull have become one of the most distinctive, successful and enduring bands in progressive rock music.

In 2008 Jethro Tull dazzled the Basel Festival crowd with a performance of power & passion. Previously only available as a DVD edition this 90-minutes live set is now becoming available for the first time in audio form.

Recorded in November 2008 at the prestigious Baloise Session (formerly known as AVO Session) in Basel, Switzerland, this electrifying concert is a captivating retrospective of Jethro Tull’s legendary career.

Set against the unique atmosphere of one of Europe’s most revered intimate music festivals, the performance showcases the band’s unmistakable sound, driven by Ian Anderson’s melodic ingenuity, intricate rhythm changes, and

dynamic arrangements.

From ‘Living In The Past’ to ‘Aqualung’, this is music that transcends time.

“As always, the prospect of a live recording places a greater-than-usual sense of concentration and responsibility on the musicians.”, says Ian Anderson.

“Added stress for us perhaps but we had the determination to match. The easy-going informality of this fine concert venue in the beautiful city of Basel

transfers to the band and audience alike providing a memorable occasion for all.”

“Live From Baloise Session” will be released on June 13th, 2025, as a 2CD Digipak and Heavyweight 2LP Gatefold edition as well as worldwide for digital download and streaming.

Today sees the release of the first live track taken from performance: ‘Aqualung’ will be instantly available as digital download and stream and when pre-ordering the album “Live From Baloise Session”.
