The Lego Movie

“The LEGO Movie” continues to build a following with audiences in the U.S. and around the globe, surpassing the $400 million mark in worldwide grosses and remaining a box office draw. The announcement was made today by Dan Fellman, President of Domestic Distribution, and Veronika Kwan Vandenberg, President of International Distribution, Warner Bros. Pictures.

To date, the film has earned $248.3 million domestically and $152.2 internationally, for a worldwide total of $400.5 million.

Following its record-breaking February 7th North American opening, “The LEGO Movie,” from Warner Bros. Pictures, Village Roadshow Pictures and LEGO System A/S, was a huge hit with audiences and critics across the country and captured the top spot at the box office for three consecutive weeks. It also proved a crowd-pleaser internationally, entertaining moviegoers throughout Asia, Latin America and Europe, with an especially dominant UK showing that ranked number one at the box office for three consecutive weeks and has so far taken in $52.5 million.

Continuing its global expansion, “The LEGO Movie” is set to debut in additional territories in the coming weeks, including Australia on April 3rd and Germany on April 10th.

Fellman stated, “‘The LEGO Movie’ opened big and has maintained an impressive hold on the market, attracting new fans as well as repeat business from positive word of mouth. This latest milestone is a fitting testament to all the talented and dedicated people who put so much of themselves into this extraordinary film, and we congratulate them on their well-earned success.”

300 Rise Of An Empire

After conquering the global box office in its opening weekend, Warner Bros. Pictures’ and Legendary Pictures’ actioner “300: Rise of an Empire” crossed the $200 million mark on March 15, only its ninth day in release. The announcement was made today by Dan Fellman, President of Domestic Distribution, and Veronika Kwan Vandenberg, President of International Distribution, Warner Bros. Pictures.

The film has earned $5,960,525 at the Australian box office, $78.3 million at the US box office and $158 million internationally, for a global total to date of $236.3 million.

300: Rise of an Empire” had especially impressive returns from IMAX 3D showings. In the US the film has earned $11.4 million on 342 IMAX screens. The international IMAX cume is $9.4 million on 182 screens for a worldwide IMAX total to date of $20.6 million.

In making the announcement, Fellman stated, “Congratulations to the filmmakers and cast, who created a thrilling action adventure that not only drew fans of the original ‘300,’ but ignited interest from moviegoers who might even have been too young to see the first film on the big screen. With strong word of mouth, especially on social media, we expect the film to continue to play strong in the weeks ahead.” Kwan Vandenberg said, “This is a great start for ‘300: Rise of an Empire,’ which was released day-and-date in 58 markets with terrific results. As proven by number one openings in major markets around the world, including the UK, Mexico, Russia, Germany, Italy, Spain, Korea, Brazil and Australia, the film’s fantastic action delivers across the board and in all languages.”

The film is being released in 3D and 2D in select theatres and IMAX, and will be distributed worldwide by Warner Bros. Pictures, a Warner Bros. Entertainment Company.

The Lego Movie

Audiences are connecting with “The LEGO® Movie” in a big way, driving the first-ever full-length theatrical LEGO adventure past $200 million in worldwide box office, less than two weeks after its record-breaking release.  The announcement was made today by Dan Fellman, President of Domestic Distribution, and Veronika Kwan Vandenberg, President of International Distribution, Warner Bros. Pictures.

“The LEGO Movie”, from Warner Bros. Pictures, Village Roadshow Pictures and LEGO System A/S, made its North American debut on Friday, February 7.  It took in an opening weekend gross of $69.1 million, making it the largest February opening for any animated film and the largest opening for an animated Warner Bros. release.  It has since gone on to earn a total of $146.3 million at the domestic box office, and still building.

The film has also launched its international engagements in a number of European, Asian, and Latin American markets, including the UK, Spain, Scandinavia, Hong Kong, Korea, Brazil and Mexico, earning $60.4 million to date, for a combined worldwide box office total of $206.7 million, and climbing.

Many major territories have yet to open, including Germany, Russia, France, Italy, Australia and Japan.

The Great Gatsby

Baz Luhrmann’s lavish adaptation of F. Scott Fitzgerald’s great American novel, The Great Gatsby, has crossed the $100 million mark at the U.S. box office after only 14 days in release. In addition, the film opened at the top of the international box office, taking in $43 million in 49 territories and scoring the number one spot in the key markets of France, Italy, Spain, Germany, Russia and Taiwan. The international cumulative gross now stands at an estimated $64.4 million, with major markets such as Australia, Mexico, Brazil and Japan yet to open. The worldwide total box office now stands at an impressive $165.1 million and counting. The announcement was made today by Dan Fellman, President of Domestic Distribution, and Veronika Kwan Vandenberg, President of International Distribution, Warner Bros. Pictures.

One of the most anticipated films of the year, “The Great Gatsby” has emerged as a worldwide counter-programming phenomenon in the highly competitive early summer corridor. Audiences have embraced the drama, the immersive 3D spectacle, and the eclectic music of the film, resulting in strong word of mouth and repeat viewings.

In making the announcement, Fellman stated, “Just as the book has been beloved by readers for generations, Baz Luhrmann’s ‘The Great Gatsby’ has already become a favorite of moviegoers.
