Stan today announced that the critically acclaimed and darkly absurd comedy Made For Love has been renewed for a second season 

Made for Love is a cynically poignant story of love and divorce following Hazel Green (Cristin Milioti), a thirty-something woman on the run after ten years in a suffocating marriage to Byron Gogol (Billy Magnussen), a controlling tech billionaire. Soon she discovers that her husband has implanted a monitoring device – the Made for Love chip – in her brain, allowing him to track her, watch her, and know her “emotional data” as she tries to regain her independence. Through the chip, Byron’s able to watch Hazel’s every move as she flees to her desert hometown to take refuge with her aging widower father Herbert (Ray Romano) and his synthetic partner, Diane.

The HBO Max series stars Cristin Milioti (Stan’s No Activity), Billy Magnussen (Get Shorty), Ray Romano (Everybody Loves Raymond, Get ShortyDan Bakkedahl (Veep), Noma Dumezweni (The Undoing), Augusto Aguilera (Chasing Life) and Caleb Foote (The Kids Are Alright).

The film will see two-time Oscar winner Christoph Waltz (Django Unchained, No Time to Die) and multi-Golden Globe nominee Sam Neill (Peter Rabbit, Jurassic Park franchise) star alongside Patrick Gibson (The OA, Tolkien) and an all-star Australian cast, including Miranda Otto (The Lord of the Rings franchise), Chris Pang (Crazy Rich Asians), Jessica DeGouw (Gretel & HanselPennyworth), New Zealand’s Rachel House (Soul, Thor: Ragnarok), Arka Das (MulanLion), Damon Herriman (Once Upon a Time… in Hollywood, Stan Original Series The Commons) and Sophie Wilde (Stan Original Series Eden, You Don’t Know Me).

Adapted from Tom Holt’s eponymous seven-book fantasy series, award-winning Australian director Jeffrey Walker (Ali’s Wedding, Stan Original Series The Commons) is directing the film from a screenplay adapted by Australian writer Leon Ford (Griff the Invisible).

Jim Henson Company and Story Bridge Films production, The Portable Door is produced by Blanca Lista from The Jim Henson Company (Alexander and the Terrible Horrible No Good Very Bad Day, The Dark Crystal: Age of Resistance), and Todd Fellman from Story Bridge Films (DaybreakersBait 3D). The Jim Henson Company’s Lisa Henson and Chris Lytton are executive producing as well as Arclight Films’ Gary Hamilton, Brian Beckmann, and Ying Ye, alongside Julia Stuart and Laura Grange from Sky, and Stan’s Cailah Scobie and Shana Levine. Madman Entertainment will handle theatrical distribution, ahead of the film’s premiere on Stan.

In The Portable Door, Paul Carpenter (Patrick Gibson) and Sophie Pettingel (Sophie Wilde) are the lowly, put-upon interns who begin working at the mysterious London firm J.W. Wells & Co. and become steadily aware that their employers are anything but conventional. Charismatic villains Humphrey Wells (Christoph Waltz), the CEO of the company, and middle manager Dennis Tanner (Sam Neill) are disrupting the world of magic by bringing modern corporate strategy to ancient magical practices, and Paul and Sophie discover the true agenda of the vast corporation where they work.

Stan, Australia’s unrivalled home of original productions, today announced that the Stan Original Film Transfusion commenced filming inSydney earlier this week; and will premiere on Stan in 2022.

Transfusion is a taut, muscular thriller starring Sam Worthington (Avatar) as Ryan Logan, a former Special Forces operative, who is battling to cope with life after the loss of his wife and is thrust into the criminal underworld to keep his only son from being taken from him.

The film also co-stars Phoebe Tonkin (Stan’s Bloom) as Justine (Ryan’s wife) and Matt Nable (The Dry) as Johnny; and introduces fresh and exciting new talent in Edward Carmody, who plays Billy Logan (Ryan’s son).

Patients entered his operating room for complex but routine spinal surgeries and left permanently maimed or dead. As victims piled up, two fellow physicians, neurosurgeon Robert Henderson (Alec Baldwin) and vascular surgeon Randall Kirby (Christian Slater), as well as Dallas prosecutor Michelle Shughart (AnnaSophia Robb), set out to stop him. Dr. Death explores the twisted mind of Dr. Duntsch and the failures of the system designed to protect the most defenceless among us.

The series explores the ‘why’ behind Dr. Duntsch’s horrendous operations, while revealing the broken healthcare system that allowed him to slip through the cracks. It celebrates everyday heroes, in this case, two fellow doctors, who went well beyond the call of duty to bring Duntsch to justice.

Stan today is releasing a captivating first look teaser of the Ancient Rome drama Domina. The eight-episode landmark series, which brings to life the power struggles of Ancient Rome from a female perspective, will premiere exclusively on Stan in May.

Domina stars Kasia Smutniak (Perfect Strangers, Them, Devils) playing Livia Drusilla, with the young Livia played by Nadia Parkes (The Spanish Princess), and supported by an international stellar cast including Liam Cunningham (Game of Thrones) playing Livius, Livia’s father, and Colette Tchantcho (The Witcher) as Antigone, Livia’s best friend, ex-slave and closest ally.

 Stan is today announcing that the second season of the critically acclaimed comedy series Everything’s Gonna Be Okay from Josh Thomas – the creator and star of the International Emmy-nominated series Please Like Me – will premiere on 9 April, same day as the U.S. and only on Stan.

After their heartbreaking trip to New York, the Moss family and Nicholas’ boyfriend, Alex, are just trying their best to move forward. With everyone back home, Matilda is rethinking her life goals, Genevieve starts putting herself out there—even dating—and Nicholas is working out how to balance being a brother, parental figure, boyfriend and cute entomologist.

This season also welcomes new eccentric friends, unexpected hookups and a lot more bugs. In addition to Thomas as Nicholas, the series stars Kayla Cromer as Matilda, Maeve Press as Genevieve and Adam Faison as Alex.  Get ready to go back to Bayside (again!) because Stan today announced the critically acclaimed comedy Saved By The Bell has been renewed for a second season, with ten brand new episodes on the way only on Stan.

Mario Lopez and Elizabeth Berkley Lauren starred in the first celebrated season, reprising their roles as A.C. Slater and Jessie Spano, and were joined by John Michael Higgins, alongside a new class featuring Belmont CameliDexter DardenMitchell HoogAlycia Pascual-PeñaJosie Totah and Haskiri Velazquez.

“I’m thrilled that Saved By The Bell has been renewed. I’ve been blown away by all the love for the show and can’t wait to go back and make more episodes,” said writer and executive producer Tracey Wigfield.

In the reimagined series, when California governor Zack Morris gets into hot water for closing too many underfunded high schools, he proposes they send the affected students to the most well-funded schools in the state – including Bayside High. The influx of new students gives the privileged Bayside kids (who never have a problem that can’t be solved in twenty-two minutes) a much-needed dose of reality.

Season 1 addressed many important topics such as race, inclusion, class and education. In the season finale, Daisy (Haskiri Velazquez) stages a walkout in order to keep the Douglas High students at Bayside.

Today’s announcement follows Stan’s recent agreement with NBCUniversal on a landmark partnership that will see a massive lineup of new content premiere exclusively on Stan, including Saved By The Bell, the recently launched drama series I Hate Suzie and the forthcoming utopian drama series Brave New World, based on Aldous Huxley’s groundbreaking sci-fi novel and premiering 16 October only on Stan.
